I’ve had this jacket for more than a month and I’m very happy with it. The Kindle DX is tied to this jacket with 4 elastic straps, one at each corner. They are not loose but hold the Kindle tight and snug. I have turned the open jacket upside down over a bed, only at a hight of 4 inches, and shaken it vigorously to see if it will come off. Not even one corner. The jacket has two pockets, one in the front and one in the back. A really nice thing is that the gray part of the jacket, as displayed in the picture, is actually a mesh that stretches with no problem. As a result you can carry in there your cable for charging the kindle. The zippers work very well. A very good jacket overall.

The M-Edge covers are superior to Amazon’s official Kindle covers because they do not require you to use the plastic hinges that hook into your Kindle. While most people don’t have a problem with the official cover, the hinges can get bent easily and push apart the case of your Kindle, which is what happened to me. The M-Edge cover uses simple straps that work perfectly to hold the device in. It is also waterproof, padded, zips shut, and has two exterior pockets. Plus, it’s cheaper!

I’d love to be able to browse through the rest of the alternate / independent Kindle covers and see their relative merits, but since they are only sold online, I went with one that I liked the look of and I wasn’t disappointed. It’s a nice carrying case and protector for when you are traveling with your Kindle.

DO NOT BUY AMAZON’S “Designed for Kindle DX” leather cover which hooks into the device. This cover is “way cool” and superior to Amazon’s.
