Maybe I am just too critical, but I have yet to find the perfect jacket. I had a neoprene sleeve as I prefer to read my kindle naked with my mygift decal. I love the small, lightweight feel and the ease of the button pushing (I’m left handed and most cases put the bulk of the case on the left making more difficult for lefties)…..BUT then I dropped and broke my Kindle. Amazon was extremely great and replaced it overnight!! But I don’t want to go there again, So back to amazon for a better cover.

I wanted a read- in cover that would work well with a clip light, that would fold back to mimic my “naked ” kindle experience. After reading about all the cracks in Kindles from using the hinged covers, I didn’t want a hinge either. I also thought that a zippered cover would protect it more from breaks.

    So here we are:

    Pros:

-the lining is very soft and protective of your kindle screen

-love the color..true to pictures on screen

-can easily leave slightly open to charge or zip cover together the opposite way to read a plus for me..no flapping of the cover

    - there is actually a strip of green down the center inside as well (not pictured here) , which I like

    CONS:

-This looks like a soft cover, but it is actually kind of hard and not anymore cushiony for protecting that a leather cover would be

-if it is not any softer, than why get a cloth cover that will eventually get marks on it?

-the grey part is very thin and cheap and seems as if the fabric will eventually develop catch marks/pulls

-the M-edge light actually fits in the pocket on the back of the cover and you have to twist it all around to use it..being careful not to twist or tweak the kindle in the process.

    - if you have the M-edge light in the back pocket. it slips partially into the back slip pocket leaving bulky plastic against the back of your kindle cover….and now you can’t set the Kindle down on any piece of furniture unless you want the protruding light parts to scratch.

-And forget putting anything in the front pocket. I just put a small church flyer in it and the grey fabric so thin I can see the outline of the paper edges through it. if you did put cords in this pocket it would just put pressure on the front of the kindle.

I haven’t seen any really great covers, so I won’t tell you not to buy this. OK if right handed, and don’t put anything in it.

For the people who make covers THIS IS WHAT I WANT:

-A Light weight cover that CUSHIONS my kindle from a fall.

-If you are going to put a light in- it should be stream line, give enough light without blinding people with light escaping from the end, fit neatly inside the cover, and be an easy to replace battery (M-edge light is almost perfect! -could be a little brighter)

-Covers should be available for right or left hander. Maybe the left handed covers would have the fold and the light on the right so that we can easily access the left sided Kindle buttons (even the flip over covers have the light on the right..you could maybe flip it over…but then the top cover would flop down into your lap)

-A cover that is flexible to fold all the way back for those who like that option and a strap/zipper/snap to keep it from flopping while you read.

-An easy to clean cover (NOT FABRIC) that lies flat and won’t damage my tables

-Maybe a pocket or two for church bulletins, business cards etc.

-I take notes on my kindle but some people might want a pad and pen option on their cover. (students, etc)

-The kindle would be secure in the cover without breaking (probably not hinge system)

-AND the best thing that I would like so that I do not have to carry a bag with me is a (removeable?) shoulder strap.

I don’t always want to put the kindle into a bigger bag when I go to church or the doctors, etc., but I am afraid of losing it or leaving it somewhere if I just hand carry it.

Let me know when you make it….I will buy it!

Although I gave the case five stars, I hope that I am not being premature, as I have just received it. I ordered this case as well as the Kindle case (which I returned). The reason that I kept the M-Edge case was the fact that it zips all the way around the Kindle, keeping dust and pet hair out. It is also a very lightweight case and does not add much to the overall weight of the Kindle when reading. The zipper works great, pulls easily and smoothly. I also love the color, as I generally favor black and neutrals in most accessories, the bright green makes it easy to find in a purse, or wherever I might leave it at home.

The M-Edge light fits nicely in a slot on the outside of the case. The case and light together make a very compact pair and allows for ease of use, as well as protection for the Kindle.

I love the color and the way that it holds the Kindle for reading. The material is rougher than I expected. There is nice cushion for the screen.

But it is just a bit too tight when it zips. It’s hard to zip and the pockets are tight on the accessories.

The light that “goes with it” works great, but you have to move it in and out of position. I wish I could just zip the case with the folded down but in place.

I absolutely love this jacket! You can fold the front cover behind and zip it or you can just open it like a book. Your Kindle is secured by all 4 corners. At first I was afraid it wouldn’t secure the Kindle enough since it is only a strip on each corner holding it in. But, I was concerned over nothing. It is very secure! I love the color, too. Seriously, no complaints whatsoever.

i love this jacket for my kindle..it’s perfect!!! it protects my kindle from scratches and dust/dirt…it’s sealed on all sides and i don’t need to take it out of the jacket when charging the kindle (which is good coz ur protecting the kindle while charging)…i love the color too…and it’s really light…it adds weight to the kindle but not much…i just take my kindle out when i feel like adoring the skin on it (by decalgirl.com)…just waiting for the e-luminator light and everything will be great
