The quality is excellent! It feels and looks like leather (not at all plastic or vinyl). BUY IT, you won't regret it one bit. The color is perfect deep red (not orange or fire color red). It holds the kindle on your lap, table and at the perfect angle. It adds a little weight to your kindle but I know a lot of people who cracked their screen by NOT using one. After receiving a replacement Kindle I chose this to protect it. This cover looks like leather, is a much more attractive color, and holds the top and bottom of the Kindle securely in place. Plus, it performs quite well as a reading stand. Ii also is much lighter and easier to carry around than the Amazon version. Get this one, you won't be disappointed. It isn't to heavy to hold either. I love it's sturdy construction and I love the fact that I can read it while I'm doing anything with my hands. I was thrilled when I opened the package because this item looks and feels great! I am also glad I got the version that opens at the top. It is very comfortable to hold.
