I used the original Amazon Leather cover first and although it is very nice it is quite heavy and I found that I preferred reading on the Kindle DX without a case. It is just more comfortable to hold like that. This cover is sturdy and protects my Kindle from scratches and screen damage when I am not reading. It looks like leather. It fits snugly, but not so tightly that it is difficult to remove and put away the device. I can also charge the Kindle while it is in the case which is quite handy. I have no complaints with this case. It suits its purpose well and with class.

Having recently purchased a new Kindle DX, I wanted to find the perfect accessory to protect it. Based on the many positive reviews, I bought both the M-Edge Platform Leather DX Jacket, and the M-Edge Page Leather DX Sleeve. Both are extremely well made – soft durable leather, solid stitching, sturdy straps to hold them shut. In terms of quality, they both get 5 stars!

I’ve tried both out for several days now, I prefer the Sleeve over the Jacket. The sleeve is essentially a sturdy leather pocket that you put the Kindle in when not in use. It does the job perfectly. The Jacket holds the Kindle all the time, and flips open from the top (like a stenographer’s pad). There are two things that aren’t optimal about the Jacket. First, the leather is very thick, and doesn’t easily bend backwards, giving you quite a handfull when you’re trying to read. Also, I worry that bending it like this will crease and eventually damage the leather. The second problem is that the strap that holds the Jacket shut is in the way of the Kindle when you are trying to read. It’s right at the bottom of the Kindle, and I found myself wrestling it frequently.

I hope this helps if you’re considering between the two types!

Please be kind enough to indicate if reviews are helpful.
