I also bought this product as soon as it was released. I love it!!! But I also was disappointed about the power switch but it was not a deal breaker for me. I read in my pool so it was a prefect solution. I would like to know if anyone else has had a problem with the keyboard area on the case bubbling up or expanding? The first time I had it out in the sun this happened, it has not affected the waterproof ability but it is a concern.

I really like this case! And, I recommend it with reservations.
PROS:
o It’s very sturdy & offers excellent protection.
o It floats beautifully! If the Kindle gets pushed under the water, it pops back up.
o The material over the screen is easy on the eyes. I noticed some reflections in it, but no glare at all.
o Most of the Kindle’s controls can be accessed while it’s in the case.
o The case is attractive – the blue color looks nice floating in the pool.
o It has a wrist-strap which is convenient for pulling the Kindle back to you as it’s floating.
o M-Edge included very clear instructions.
CONS:
o It’s heavy. My digital kitchen scale (which may not be 100% accurate) came in with a weight of 1 lb 1 oz for the case alone. Of course, if your Kindle is floating or semi-floating in the water, the weight isn’t noticeable. But, if you want to use it while sitting at the beach, it might feel heavy.
o You can’t access the sleep switch while the K2 is in the case. I knew this before purchasing.
WARNING:
I had a fairly major issue with the Guardian case after using it at the pool for less than an hour on a hot sunny day. When, I tried to remove my Kindle from the case, it was stuck to the front of the cover. The flexible clear material on the front which is over all the controls (page buttons, keyboard, 4-way controller, etc) had softened in the sun & was stuck to my Kindle’s skin. It wasn’t lightly stuck – it was impossible to remove the kindle from the case. It’s as if the skin & the case material were super-glued together. I eventually got the Kindle out, but the skin was destroyed and the case damaged (although still usable). Luckily, the Kindle itself was unharmed. M-Edge customer service was helpful. No complaints about their response!
On another hot day I used the Guardian and the soft plastic rose up & never returned to it’s original shape.
CONCLUSION:
If you want a case that is strong & waterproof, then the Guardian is probably a good choice! But, I would not recommend using this case in the sun on a hot day, especially if your Kindle has a skin on its front.

Great idea, but as others have said, a critical flaw. There is no way to access the power switch while the Kindle is in the case. This defeats the purpose of the case. Imagine floating in the pool in an innertube and having to open the case to turn on the Kindle… Might as well use a Zip-lock bag at that point.
If they solve this design problem, this will be a 5 star case. But until then, its not.

When it comes to choosing what you want for cases for your kindle you need to look at what you value. If you value truly being waterproof most then this is absolutely the case to get – none of the others come close to this one if only looking at that factor.
I’ve brought my kindle into the ocean, onto a sandy beach, into the bathtub, in pouring rain, and just around town with me with this case. It’s happy in the water. It’s not hard to use the buttons, and it floats there for you rather than sinking. When somewhere like at a beach rather than just in a bathtub, the floating matters a lot more.
One of the things I strongly prefer about this case over the other waterproof cases is the ability to visually inspect the seal. I trust this case to dropping my kindle in the ocean – when I was using a different case I didn’t trust it to be dropped into the bathtub because how could I know for sure that it was fully sealed and didn’t have anything in the seal. You can see the difference in the o-ring on this when it is sealed and not and this allows you to quickly visually inspect the seal. I don’t know if this was purposeful but is something I am greatly enjoying about the case.
Basically what should be listed though is just a simple list of pros and cons.
Pros:
-Waterproof. Immersion Proof. I can bring my kindle on a kayak and flip the kayak with it on top of the kayak and it’ll be fine.
-High quality seal.
-Sturdy feeling hinges
-Anti-slip back
-Incredibly sturdy feeling device
-You can inspect the seal
-Once you move the joystick it is accurate. This is a problem I had with previous waterproof cases (bag based ones)
-Air gap between the screen and the case – it makes it harder to crack the screen
Cons:
-unable to turn kindle on without opening the case assuming I’m not able to get the magnetic turning on working
-slightly harder to use the buttons, but that is true for any waterproof cover
-noticably harder to press menu button because of being in a corner.
-takes a lot more force to use the 5-way joystick
-weight
Personally, it is absolutely worth $80. I wish there was a way to turn it on while in the case, and I feel like I have to take off a star for that, but I really wish I could give it 5 stars with how great of a case it is.
If all you want is a zip lock bag, use a zip lock bag. If you want something sturdy and that you are truly comfortable with the kindle while you’re in the water, then this is by far the best product out there.

I bought the Guardian case as soon as I saw it as I spend time in a boat and thought it would ease my concern when I take my Kindle along. It was a good thing I didn’t see any reviews and was unaware that the power switch wasn’t accessible. If I had known that, I would not have purchased it. However, once it was delivered I was impressed with the quality of the case and the accessibility to everything (except the power switch). I often take a break when reading and have generally been unhappy that the Kindle seems to turn itself off way too soon for me. So, I’ve tried it while fishing (waiting for something to bite) and it really worked well. However, when the Kindle timed out, I had to open the Guardian to turn it back on. It wasn’t difficult but it certainly wouldn’t lend itself to pool use. I’ll keep the Guardian but have to agree with the people who say the inability to access to power switch should be included in the product description. The case seems to be very cleverly constructed and appears quite durable. I’m impressed enough to give it four stars even considering the power switch issue.
