The above reviewers should read what the item actually is before purchase, and then giving it a low review.

The item SPECIFICALLY says it is for “nook” NOT “kindle”. The “nook” is smaller than the “kindle” so OFCOURSE it will be a tight fit if you try to squeeze it in there.

That’s like trying to fit Los Angeles inside of PODUNK, Arkansas.

The sleeve is nice, it is very soft on the inside and I never worried about the kindle being damaged while it was inside the sleeve. The problem that I had with this product is that when your Kindle is not in the sleeve, there is nothing to protect it. In fact, I dropped my kindle when it was not in the sleeve and caused damage to it.

I guess it depends on how mobile your Kindle will be. If you plan on taking it with you on a plane/train/bus, this is not the best protection against bumps and dings. On the other hand if you plan on keeping your Kindle at home the sleeve is great.

I have the 2nd Generation Kindle and it fits perfectly into this sleeve. I had been waiting for a case that was not attached to the Kindle – one that I could easily slip the Kindle out and then return it to protect the screen while residing in my purse. This is perfect for that. The inside is soft and the fit is snug, but not tight. It is lightweight and so far appears to be durable.

This sleeve is a very tight fit on my Kindle that I’m afraid it would damage the skin on my Kindle. I’ve tried inserting and taking out the Kindle three times so far, but I’ve stopped for fear I’m tempting fate on the skin. I don’t understand why M-Edge couldn’t add a quarter of an inch of allowance; it can’t be that much of added fabric/expense, and would ease taking out the Kindle while still keeping it held in. I’ve decided to only use it when I’m going out and put the Kindle in the original box when I’m at home. Also, the smell of the glue is very strong, but it’s not noxious odor (I could see someone getting high on it). I’m going to let it air out, and hopefully, the odor will dissipate with use. I do like that the top and bottom are of solid and firm material to protect the screen and the backside. Also, the inside is lined with a microfiber-type cowhide-ish fabric. From all my research, this is the best one for my purposes, except for the snugness, which I hope will loosen with more use of the sleeve.
