I have only had my Kindle since November 2008 and I’m on my 3rd battery. The poor battery quality is unsatisfactory.

There are NO instructions for installation included with the spare battery or in the Kindle Instruction Manual. This makes the product totally worthless!

I do not own a Kindle but I want one. I wont buy one until the issue with the battery is taken care of. I have read the reviews and when I’m spending over 300.00 bucks on an item I do not expect to be inconvienced and then have to pay for it (you have to be kidding me you’re ok buying a battery just because it costs 20.00 bucks? it shouldnt cost you anything). I want to thank everyone who wrote about the battery issue. I was going to get one of these for my dad (and myself) who is 75 for his birthday but he is not going to know what to do if the battery fails. I will rekindle my desire when The Kindle is ready to accomodate me.

I love the ebook reader. It takes a while to download an ebook since I live in a green area’ but worth it. I do not like the book cover as the reader slips out while I am using it. Develop a better cover and I will buy it…cas

My experience with the kindle battery is that as long as you leave the whispernet feature off, you can go a very long time without recharging. Leaving whispternet on or using the whispernet at length does reduce battery time considerably. Since this is a reading device if you only use the whispernet as supplementary to you reading – no problem. This is not a online computer. I have never understood why people complain about a product for not living up to claims it does not make.
