I received my Kindle 2 for Christmas and subsequently spent several days researching cover/sleeve options. I was very concerned about purchasing the Amazon Kindle cover after reading many reviews stating that the hinge feature of the cover can actually damage the Kindle. Turns out, there are similar negative reviews regarding the M-Edge hinged cover. So, I decided to opt for a sleeve rather than a cover, and the M-Edge leather Kindle sleeve fits the bill nicely. The gold color is really pretty–it’s a subtle silver-gold, very stylish. The sleeve is nicely crafted and looks like it should have cost more than it did (after seeing the sleeve for the first time, my husband remarked, “wow, that’s fancy!”). It’s lined with a light grey felt-like material, and the sleeve is slightly padded to add extra protection. There is a simple strap closure that keeps the Kindle in place, but even without the strap closed, the Kindle still sits snugly in the sleeve. You do have to have a firm grip on the Kindle to pull it out of the sleeve–perhaps this will change with time and use. Added bonus–place the Kindle inside the sleeve “head first”, and you can charge it while it’s inside the sleeve. The only downside is that out of the box, the sleeve smelled very strongly of leather, but the smell has started to fade. I also don’t care for the M-Edge logo that is stamped onto the lower right corner of the back of the sleeve (not visible in the product image on this page). All in all though, I’m very pleased with this sleeve.

It arrived in about a week, which is not bad. I love the product. It is just like it was described online. The kindle fits in it nice and snug. I think it is very well protected. When I pick up the case with the Kindle in it the buttons get pushed, I don’t think that it’s too big of a deal though. I love the color too, it’s a nice iridescent silvery gold.
