I bought the Saddle Brown version of this cover first because it looked like a warm, caramel color on the website. I was very disappointed when the cover arrived to see that it is a dull, flat tan color. I returned it and purchased the Mocha Brown color which I am very pleased with; it is a rich, warm brown. The Platform cover itself is a good product (see my review of the Mocha Brown version) and I’m pleased with it. The leather is very good quality and it has a nice grey suede interior to protect your Kindle. The platform feature works most of the time, but on some flat surfaces you need to place something behind it to keep it propped up. The weight of the Kindle causes it to collapse. I wanted to alert others who are considering the Saddle Brown color that it is actually a yellowish tan and, in my opinion, not very attractive.

I am very pleased with this cover. I like the “easel” style as it really is nice for prop for Kindle while reading. Very nice feel and sleek design. I don’t find the slide in “latch” inconvenient in the least. I has room for a few papers and/or business cards, but not for charges or other accessories, but I just wanted it for Kindle protection. Not bulky or difficult to use at all.

If you use your Kindle while sitting at a table, you need this. It holds the DX securely at just the right angle. Very solid.
A bit pricey, but the leather and construction are excellent.
Highly recommend it.
(I also have a M-Edge jacket for my original Kindle.)

I had already purchased an Octo slip cover and neoprene water/dirt case/cover when I saw a guy in a coffee shop that had his Kindle 2 standing at a 20 degree angle, like a book on a stand.
I bought a cheap wire book stand and the kindle slides on it too much. So… I gave in and bought this.
Pros:
-Awesome for sitting at a table and reading. Great reading angle
-Stitching looks to be pretty high quality
-Nice materials
-Should protect the kindle fine in a backpack or business case
-Sturdy enough if you’re just going to throw something in the passenger seat and ride down to the local reading spot.
Cons:
-Weighs more than the Kindle
-Larger than the kindle. Enough room at the top for a pen and on the side for a sharpie. They did this to make it compatible with their (M-Edge) book light which is not currently available (between Gen 1 and 2) – June 22, 2009.
These two cons really make the whole Kindle experience a little clunkier than it should be. Maybe if I could get their light and try that whole experience… but I hardly ever find myself using the little book light I already have.
